We proudly announce that Joni-Kristian Kämäräinen from Tampere University will give a keynote talk at the 29th FRUCT conference. The talk title is Past and Present Grand Challenges of Computer Vision.
Summary: We discuss the past and current grand challenges of computer vision. We particularly discuss whether they are solved or should they be further studied. The main goal of the talk is to provide some new avenues of research for computer vision scientists and inspire people from other fields to adopt the current technologies.
Bio: Joni-Kristian Kämäräinen is a Professor of Signal Processing at the Department of Computing Sciences, Tampere University of Technology, Finland. He received his PhD degree from Lappeenranta University of Technology in 2003. His main research interests are computer and robot vision. He has received the Charles E. Ives Journal Award for the best paper in Journal of Imaging Science and Technology (JIST) in 2010 and nominations for the best industrial paper in ICPR 2018 and the best student paper award in VISAPP 2019. He has been serving as program chair (SCIA 2013), associate editor (PRLETTERS) and area chair (ICPR 2018, BMVC 2020, SCIA 2017).

We proudly announce that Michal Zabovsky from University Science Park, University of Žilina, Slovakia, will give an invited talk at the 29th FRUCT conference and the second DataWorld workshop. The talk title is Data-Driven Prediction Systems in Transportation.
Current data processing methods are changing intensively. Except for new methods, including artificial intelligence and especially machine learning, the processing is based on new data sources changing differently in time. Our speech describes algorithms and methods for optimization and problem solving as well as different data sources currently used by these algorithms.

The 29th FRUCT conference will be organized as a mix of onsite and remote participation, i.e., distant participation is allowed. If you select distant participation please don't forget to send 8-10 min video of your presentation to info@fruct.org by April 30, 2021 at latest. Video files over 20Mb better to upload to google drive, dropbox, or other repository. The video shall at least present your slides with audio track of the talk. The preferred formats for your video are MP4 and WMV. In preparation of the paper please follow provided paper templates: MS Word, LaTeX. Please note the following major changes in the templates: The size of page should be Letter (21.59 cm × 27.94 cm). If you are using Word margins must be: top - 1.9 cm, bottom - 1.6 cm, left - 1.57 cm and right – 1.57 cm.

The conference submission deadline is March 12, 2021 and authors will receive a notification of accepted by April 9, 2021. If due to travel and visa arrangements you need to have earlier decision then use earlier submission deadline - February 19, 2021. Authors of the papers received before the earlier submission deadline will receive a notification of accepted by March 10, 2021. If you need even earlier arrangments please write to email info<at>fruct.org and be prepared to make even earlier submission of your paper.
