24/01/14: Defence of dissertation in the field of biomedical engineering and biophysics, M.Sc. Ajay Mahalka

M.Sc. Ajay K. Mahalka will defend the dissertation "Control of Protein Oligomerization and De-oligomerization on Lipid Membranes" on 24 January 2014 in lecture hall E, Otakaari 1, Espoo. Dissertation explored the role of membranes associated protein oligomerization in microbial killing, neurological disorder, and in control of enzyme activity utilizing spectroscopy methods. The above studies open new possibilities for the development of therapeutics for microbial diseases, Finnish type familial gelsolin amyloidosis, lysosomal storage disorders (Niemann-pick disease), and cancer.
