International Master's Degree Programme in IT
Tampere University of Technology (Finland), the FRUCT partner program calls for applications for International M.Sc. Programme in Information Technology.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must have a 3- or 4-year Bachelor of Science degree from an internationally recognised university, which has to be listed in the latest edition of the International Handbook of Universities. The B.Sc. degree should be in the field of computing, information technology, electrical engineering, computer science or another discipline related to the programme, entailing proficiency in mathematics, physics and computer science.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
By March 15, 2010 the following documents are required (they are described in greater detail in the application guide):
- Copy of the original Bachelor of Science degree certificate
- English translation of the B.Sc. degree certificate
- Copy of the original study transcript (courses of the B.Sc. degree)
- English translation of the study transcript
- Certificate of proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL or CPE/CAE)
- Statement of purpose
- Curriculum Vitae / Resume
- Recommendation letters (a minimum of 2 recommendation letters from academic and/or professional referees with their contact information)
- Financial statement and proof of financial support

Win Nokia N900: challenge for Russian MAEMO developers

Qt for Maemo Training Course (Beta)
This training course gives you a deep view on developing Qt applications for the Maemo 5 platform. You will be familiarised with the Maemo platform and development tools, learn to port Qt applications from other platforms to Maemo, and fine-tune the UI for Maemo and Qt features available in Maemo. Приглашаем вас принять участие во второй международной открытой конференции посвященной развитию MAEMO, платформы с открытым кодом для мобильных устройств, в основе которой лежит прогрммное обесечение с открытым исходным кодом. Конференция проводится с 23 по 25 марта 2010 года в городе Москва.
Конференция будет состоять из тренинга по MAEMO (а возможно, и по Qt – следите за новостями!) и собственно конференции с презентациями и лекциями ведущих экспертов и разработчиков. Если вы хотите выступить с докладом, зарегистрируйтесь на этой страничке или пришлите письмо с аннотацией вашего доклада на адрес info<at>fruct.org до 23 февраля.
Тренинг проводится на русском языке и нацелен на знакомство с инструментами и методами разработки приложений для платформы Maemo. Тренинг предназначен для всех, кто интересуется разработкой приложений для мобильных устройств. Участие в тренинге бесплатное, но необходима регистрация. Количество свободных мест ограничено.
Участникам тренинга желательно обладать следующими знаниями и навыками:
- Программирование на C;
- Базовые знания Linux (командная строка);
- Основы программирования графических интерфейсов пользователя.
Основные темы тренинга:
- Введение в Maemo. Платформа для мобильных устройств: специфика, ограничения
- Программное обеспечение с открытым исходным кодом: принципы, лицензии, методы разработки в сообществах разработчиков
- Обзор набора инструментов разработчика (SDK)
- Программирование графических интерфейсов пользователя: GTK+ и Hildon
- Интерфейс пользователя в мобильном устройстве
- Практический пример: первое Maemo-приложение. Меню и тулбар. Методы ввода в Maemo-устройстве
- Виждеты Hildon. Контейнеры и layouts
- Интеграция с платформой: telepathy, evalution-data-server, single-sign-in
- Программирование работы с сетью
- Система пакетов и распространения программного обеспечения в Debian

Qt winter school 2010
February 8-13, 2010
The school is for senior students who know C, C++ and development tools on Linux. The main purpose of the school is to give the conseption about Qt as a development tool for programming on platforms Maemo v5 and MeeGo.
Organizers: FRUCT, IT-park of Petrozavodsk State University, PetrSU department of Computer Science.
