AIKO, the adult education of the Faculty of Health Care at Turku University of Applied Sciences, is a community where internationality is a natural and pleasant part of the teachers’ daily work.
The UAS Days Seminar challenged each participating university of applied sciences to create a video about innovations supporting studying. Dutch HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht was selected as the winner of the competition.
Internationalisation at home is a bit of a mouthful, but you shouldn’t be scared of that. When you have been internationalised first at home, you’ll also be ready to leave for exchange abroad or to perform international tasks.
TUAS coordinates an international development project where competences and expertise in the field of library services are being developed further, spreading research data is being promoted, and exploitation of research data is being increased. 
More than 70 European experts in higher education administration participated in TUAS International Week that took place on 10–14 June, 2013. During the event, the guests reflected on the future of European higher education and got to know Turku as a higher education city. 
Esko Ukkonen, who served as head of the department in 2010-2013, has gained a well-deserved promotion to the vice-deanery in charge of research at the Faculty of Science, and as stand-in for Dean Jouko Väänänen, so we needed a new head of the department. It is I.
M.Sc. Janne H. Korhonen will defend his doctoral thesis Graph and Hypergraph Decompositions for Exact Algorithms on Thursday 16th of January 2014 at 12 o'clock in the Arppeanum Building, Snellmaninkatu 3, Main Lecture Hall. His opponent is Professor Dieter Kratsch (University of Lorraine, France)  and custos Professor Esko Ukkonen (University of Helsinki). The defense will be held in English.

Timo Honkela has been elected for the post of professor for research into digital materials. This field of study includes research into the use of linguistic and other humanistic materials, as well as the creation of new kinds of utilisation of humanistic research data, and wholly new knowledge.
