M.Sc. (Tech.) Riku Ruotsalainen will defend the dissertation "The micro-to-macro problem: the generation of mobilizing frames through idea development conversations" on 7 February 2014 in lecture hall TU2, Otaniementie 17, Espoo. The dissertation investigates the conversations of two task forces comprising of professionals from nine health care organizations. The task forces were set up to create new practices and measurements for managing patient transfers.

M.Sc. (Tech.) Mikko Hakala will defend the dissertation "Atomic and electronic transport on surfaces and interfaces" on 24 January 2014 in lecture hall C, Otakaari 1, Espoo. In the dissertation, electronic properties of silicon-hafnia interfaces and the effect of charging of metal atoms on insulating surfaces was studied.
